March Photo A Day - Trash

This was a really hard challenge. I mean who in their right mind wants to see trash? How can I make trash - my trash - interesting and artistic?

I drink Earl Grey Tea like I own stock in the company, like I have my own East India Shipping line, like I am British. There is nothing that a good cup of tea can't fix. Except maybe appendicitis, but I'm not sure as my appendix hasn't wanted to leave yet. A long time ago, I used to drink regular Lipton with milk and sugar, but once I discovered Earl Gray, I was hooked. I take it with sugar and that's it. By the end of the day (especially now that I am home all the time) there is a little pile of tea bag wrappers sitting on the counter. Not that I'm too lazy to throw them out, but it is the only way for me to keep track of how much tea I am actually drinking! I have to ration, you know, since a box is wicked expensive. Let me tell you, if the colonists had Earl Grey, that little Tea Party of theirs would never have happened. They would have been all, "What? Throw my Earl Grey into Boston Harbor? Are you mad? Do you know how delicious this shit is? Let's just stay colonists. No biggie!"

  1. I like the photo of the tea.

I keep thinking of what I would've taken a picture of for each of your photos of the day. For this one, I would've taken a picture of one of my homeless friends and said something about how they're not trash, but they sure are treated like it.

    1. That would have a been commentary. I'm pretty sure that fatmumslim does a photo a day thing every month. I've had a lot of fun with this one. I might after the A to Z challenge do another one.

  2. LOVE Earl Grey. Well, I like all tea equally. It's great.
The colonists would have tossed you overboard with it, though.

    1. Probably. But, I will still contend that they would have had some misgivings about the whole thing!

    1. Thanks. I think the tea bag pouch is much better than the trash barrels but I did have fun with it. I probably took about 30 photos just of the barrels!

  4. Have you ever tried Assam tea? I had it for the first time at an English tea at the Lipton Tea House in Tokyo. (A British ex-pat arranged and hosted tea's all over Tokyo, it was fun) Best tea I've ever had. Your Earl Grey makes trash look classy.

    1. No. I've never even heard of it. Though to be honest, I am such a stickler for my routine (even though I claim to have routines and schedules) that I haven't looked at any other type of tea in years. And woe betide the store that is out of Twinnings!!
