March Photo A Day - 5 PM

We have a rule in our house - one of the few that is strictly enforced - No drinking before 5pm. We aren't big drinkers and I, with my lack of gallbladder, can't really process alcohol like I once used to. That being said, we actually have a fairly hefty liquor cabinet (in the loosest definition of "cabinet"). We keep what we need to make a few mixed drinks and occasional shots.

I mentioned that my "cabinet" was a loose interpretation, right?

Ignore that dust. Seriously how am I supposed to know there is dust on TOP of the refrigerator? I can't even reach up there!

One of my favorite shots - a grasshopper floater.

So pretty! And such a beautiful green!

Yum. And warm! Oh I like 5 o'clock!

Don't Mess With Girl Scouts!

Clearly these girls were after their Vigilantly merit badge...I think they earned it.

March Photo A Day - A Smile + I Made It Monday (It's a two for one deal)

Well now here's the thing... Although I have on occasion posted a few photos of myself or my family, I have the great tendency to not want to. The internet being what it is and all. Call me paranoid (maybe I am - I am a prepper after all) but I just don't feel comfortable with plastering personal photos up everywhere. So instead of a person's smile, I offer you today a bunch of random faces from around my house. Two of these also fall into the "I Made It Monday" category so...two birds and one stone!

My nephew gave me this Tiki vase a while back and something about it just always makes me smile!

Meet Rupert out Elf On A Shelf. Seems he likes to hang around long past Christmas time. But I'm okay with that.

I picked this up from B&N on clearance right after Halloween and gave a matching set to Scott for Christmas.

Every few days or so I create a new "inator." Sometimes it is about my mood, sometimes it is about dinner.

I am not 100% sure where this came from, but it was a sticker I made into a magnet and it holds a place of respect and dignity among my other refrigerator magnets.

This is the beginning of a new project...shhh...don't tell! It is top secret! It's also kind of creepy right now.

My first attempt at an octopus following Ana Paula's pattern. I got mad because I kept messing up the legs so I gave up and turned it into a angry head.

March Photo A Day - Bedside

I wish I could claim that my bedside table always looked so neat and clean, but alas, it usually has more stuff tossed on top of it. I just straightened it up this morning trying to organize all the library books that were strewn about my room.

The white canvas bag (from Utility Canvas) is my library bag. The two books on the top shelf are ones I just got from Barnes and Noble. The ones on the bottom shelf are my library books. Scott won't let me keep a tire iron, machete or hatchet on my side table so I keep the pinata stick there instead. Just in case.

March Photo A Day - My Neighborhood

While I'm not fully in the country, my neighborhood has a definite "country" feel to it. This is the view from just in front of my driveway looking up the street.

March Photo A Day - Fruit

I wanted to take a few photos in the grocery store as I was shopping. The fruits were so shiny and delicious looking, especially the exotic tropical fruits. But I felt kind of...weird whipping out my camera in the store. I suppose it wouldn't seem so odd if I had a MacGyver Swiss Army Phone then could have been all on the down low and surreptitious.

Once I got home, I couldn't just take one photo.

Ignore the potatoes. They're just jealous of all the fruit.

Jelly Beans count as fruit, right? I mean they are fruit flavored. That has to count for something!
