Friday Photos

I love going to museums. The carefully arranged display cases, the history, the amazing art, the creepy, creepy sculptures lurking around every corner. I think the photo today speaks for itself.

As you can see from his leering, Ezekiel* is not messing around. You come near his fruit and he will take you down. The girls wouldn't go anywhere near him, but I was fascinated by the additional face on his belly. I think that creeped me out just slightly more than his overtly menacing expression.

* Not the sculpture's real name/title but, fitting, I think, nonetheless. He looks like what I picture the biblical Ezekiel as: Wild eyes, crazy hair, mouth open in amazement or hunger or a blood-curling scream of death.

  1. He's magnificent! I'd totally put him on my room divider!

    1. I would think that you'd have to move him periodically in the middle of the night and that way you'd keep your family on their toes!

  2. I don't know exactly what Ezekial is, some monkey/leopard hybrid maybe, nor why the artist decided to draw attention to his nipples like that, but it is spectacular. I want one for my home.

    1. Like with Valerie, I am not at all surprised. Although somehow I think that you wouldn't build a shire to him. He'd just sit somewhere and stare at your guests until they squirmed uncomfortably* and asked that the next get together be at there house where statues were less likely to murder them.

*is there any other way to squirm than uncomfortably?

  3. Ezekial looks like he has just gotten some shocking news. "Girl say what, WHAT? No way. NO. She is not rebounding with Tyler. Tyler is not good enough for her. I know, I know, I should butt out. But seriously, that girl is headed for TROUBLE."

Also, I think I just made Ezekial gay. I'm sorry.

    1. They kept pulling me away from it. It was kind of adorable. They were all, "Mommy look at the nice safe chair! Stay away from the creepy statue!"

  5. I like him but I'm not sure I'd want him in my house. I'd always be afraid he might come alive.
