Interruption

I interrupt your regularly scheduled blog reading for some minor announcements:

1) Holy Moly People! Working is ruining my life of lesuire! I am finding that adjusting to a new schedule at 36 is not nearly as easy as adjusting to a new schedule at 22. That being said, I'm trying, but I am going to have to prioritize my time here. So for the duration of the challenge, I will be focused on making comments on other people's blogs. I love your comments and I read every one of them. Twice. I do! Really! Once in my inbox and then again on the blog. So for Goodness sake keep them coming because you're all awesome like that but I probably won't get around to replying to them until my days off.

2) I am going to disallow anonymous comments. Blogger is pretty good about filtering for me, but the amount of spam is increasing exponentially and I think I'd rather be a bit more proactive with my blog management.

3) I'm not sure if you noticed but at the end of each post, I've been giving a shout out to a fellow A to Z-er. For this first week I'm linking to people I already know and follow, but for the rest of the challenge I'm going to link to people I don't know all that well but have been intrigued by their posts.

4) I have been blessed with a gaggle of new followers and I want to take a second and acknowledge them! The A to Z Challenge is a great way to discover new blogs and people who might just be crazier than me and I am grateful for everyone who has stopped by on a whim (and if you are like me you click a link because the name intrigues you) and then stuck around. Thank you!

Happy A to Z-ing!!

  1. I can totally understand where you are coming from. When life is so darn busy, we have to prioritize or else we'll end up going crazy.

I started graduate school five years ago when I was 31 and I was working full time. It was so difficult making this transition. Prioritizing took on a whole new meaning.

  6. Hi, found you via the A-Z. Started at the bottom, now having a look at the ones at the top! I have the opposite problem, after having worked all my life, I have found myself gainfully unemployed and am so busy I honestly don't know how I ever fitted work in!

  8. I can empathize with what you're saying here. I eventually had to disallow anonymous because of spam. Essentially solved the problem of unwanted comments, but I hate that I might be missing legit comments from people who don't want to register.

    1. Lee, I don't know how you do it anyway! You've got three gazillion blogs and you respond to all your comments! Any you get around to comment on so many other blogs! It makes me dizzy!!

      I commend you sir!

  9. Yeah, all the reading and commenting is just about killing me! I am enjoying reading the posts, but you are right, there's only so much time in a day!

I had to disable anonymous comments, too. Solved the problem completely for now.

I didn't realize that's what those numbers were! I'm going to have to check them out, now :)

  10. I disabled anonymous comments awhile ago for the same reason, all of the sudden I was getting hit hard with spam. While blogger stopped most of them, I would get emails from all the comments but wouldn't know if blogger let them through or not so I would have to click on each one to see. It got annoying, so I stopped them. I never got any legitimate ones so I don't think I'm missing out.

  11. I've started to have a real issue with spam too. Like Jeff said, blogger blocks most of them but they still clog up my e-mail. I may have to disable anonymous comments too.

I so wanted to have all my posts ready ahead of time, so I could just focus on reading and commenting. But I went back to work from maternity leave on March 4 and I didn't get the posts done ahead of time. It's too bad but there's nothing I can do about it now.

    1. I hated to do it because my sister comments anonymously (I always know it's her!!) but yeah, way too much spam!

I feel you for wanted to get everything preposted. I tried and failed! I'm winging the posts but I did prepick most of the words I want to use so that's something!
