BEFORE: looking down the driveway towards the road |
AFTER: I can see the road from here. Yay (notice my lack of exclamation point. I kind of liked the wild look). It's like my yard has been deforested. Man! those Ferngully Fairies are gonna be pissed! |
BEFORE: Front yard and gazebo. |
AFTER: It doesn't look much different, but all of the shrubs have been cut back, the pond cleaned up, the palm shaped and a few trees...gone. |
I'm new here but loved seeing your place. You live in such a beautiful area! Must be wonderful :)
ReplyDeleteThe good thing about chopping all the plants/trees back is that they'll return to their usual self pretty soon... you won't have to look at the road for too long ;-)
The area is really lovely and the neighborhood although really close to the interstate is very rural!
DeleteFYI - totally glad you're here! :)
Such a picturesque surroundings. This is a very soothing post, should I say.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I love the yard especially coming from a townhouse with no yard whatsoever.
DeleteWell, right now everything is a little too fresh cut and bare - give that laneway a month or so and it will start to green up again. Love that they blocked up your wood!
ReplyDeleteI hope so because I almost cried at how much they chopped!
DeleteBeautiful grounds, Heather! The after pictures look much better. :) Trees and foliage (not to mention gargantuan, hearty weeds) grow so fast out here and we have to cut them back often. It sure does involve a lot of time and effort, but the results are well worth it.
ReplyDeleteI'm getting used to it but I really did like that I couldn't see the road before. But I am glad they got the bushes under control because those things were scary!
DeleteYou live in a beautiful area!!! All I have around me is crap and ugly people!
ReplyDeleteBut you should really invest in a good machete. In case of fallen branches or zombies. :o)
Hugs!
Valerie
Thanks. I really love my neighborhood although I've not met many people in it yet...or should I say still. I'm a "keep to myself" kind of neighbor.
DeleteAs for the machete...my husband won't let me have one. Truly, it is forbidden. I told the story in Z is for Zombie post last month.
I love where you live. It looks like somewhere I'd want to live. Also, yay for them leaving firewood. The guys who did my trees did that too. Now I keep telling my folks, "Hey, firewood for the cabin here!"
