On the plus side, job interview.
So. Small. I struggled with this one. Really. It was hard to come up with a subject until I remembered that just the other day I took a photo of something sneaky small. Sneaky and creepy and I am oh so glad I did not find it in the house like that centipede I almost stepped on the other morning in the kitchen (centipedes are creepy in and of themselves with all those legs, but throw in pinchers and a scorpian-like stinger and ewww).
Hankette (because I'm sure it's a girl) was hanging out in front of the well house door. Her web stretched completely across and almost halfway down. Pretty impressive. |
She's pretty, right? I'm not sure what kind of spider she is but I am very glad that she did not jump at me while I was taking the photos. She seemed rather irritated with the flash. |
ick, spiders! Love the frog though :)
ReplyDeleteActually the frogs freak me out just a bit more...I've had one too many fall on my head before. Spiders for the most part leave me alone.
DeleteWhat a pretty spider! Based on its eye setup it is a species of orb weaver, its coloring fits too. I would say from the size that you are right that it's a female! Does she respin her web everyday? Orb weavers are so pretty (and they don't jump they just scurry). She'll do a great job keeping out insects! Cute froggy too.
ReplyDeleteShe really is! We had to move her so we could get into the well house. I hope she is settling in nicely on her new tree.
DeleteAs much as spiders have been the bane of my existence lately, this one is really stunning. Amazing the artistry in such tiny detail.
ReplyDeleteAs long as they are outside, I'm fine with them although I hate walking through webs - that freaks me right the heck out! But all bets are off if I see them in the house!
DeleteSome interesting company you have here. I like the way you captured them both.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I really love living in the country setting we have now. I missed all the life outside when I lived in the city!
DeleteThank you for including the frog offset mu arachnophobia.
ReplyDeleteOops. I forgot that you have a slight arachnophobia. Sorry. Hope you can forgive my slight misstep!
